Role Overview


Eclipse Automation is seeking a Controls Engineering Standards & Training Coordinator to join our growing engineering team in Cambridge, ON.  Our Engineering Teams push possibilities and turn passion into world-class products to help our customers reach their ultimate potential. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Standards and Training Coordinator will liaise with all Controls Engineering employees to focus on three main areas: Department Training, Department Software and Department Standardization


The Controls Engineering Standards & Training Coordinator job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:


  • Department Training: train new and current employees on:
    • Department Standards
    • Eclipse controls programming standards
    • EPLAN
    • Versiondog
  • Department Standards: facilitate problem solving discussions between Controls Engineering and other departments to ensure that all needs are aligned and to serve as a “translator” between the groups
    • Identify workflows or processes which can be streamlined or automated
    • Implement and maintain Controls Engineering standards
    • Play a central role in aligning the needs of business units from an engineering standards, data, and communication perspective
    • Incorporate existing technologies such as collaboration tools, remote access tools, etc.
  • Department Software: work with IT to ensure upgrades are implemented quickly and efficiently
    • Assist in creating and maintaining software budgets
    • Ensure that department staff are supported by our software providers
    • Assess department software needs and provide recommendations
  • Provide training recommendations and facilitate training for new and current employees as required
  • Leadership in providing improvements to product delivery across all the divisions
  • Explore new and innovative technology and provide analysis and recommendations
  • Promote personal development and safe work practices
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule




  • Completion of either a University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Robotics Automation Technology or equivalent experience
  • Controls Software design background
  • Understanding of the automation / controls design process
  • A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in EPLAN and Microsoft Office and willing to learn and gain a general understanding of computers and networks and different types of software as require
