Job Summary:


Working closely with the Test Manager and other senior team members, the Technical Tester is responsible for applying our test methodology and associated processes on our client projects, mentoring and providing testing best practice guidance to junior test team members.


Job Details/Essential Functions/Responsibilities:


  • Identity the tasks defined in the test plan in terms of technical requirements
  • Perform test planning, analysis and design activities
  • Develop automation frameworks using open-source tools
  • Develop automation script with hybrid frameworks
  • Identify and prepare automation test data
  • Develop web services test script
  • Good understanding of Rest API architecture
  • Development experience in Groovy/Java/Ruby/VB script
  • Conduct technical testing activities as defined in test plan
  • Prepare and execute the appropriate activities, and report on their progress to the Test Manager
  • Participate in Test Retrospective reviews
  • Update and maintain team training and knowledge transfer assets
  • Train, mentor and coach test team members
  • Maintain and communicate a solid understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies and terminology

 

Required Education/Credentials:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science and/or Business, or
  • 2 Year Diploma in IT and/or Business
  • Diploma in IT and/or Business with Equivalent IT Experience
  • Industry recognized Testing Certification

  

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:


  • Minimum 3+ yrs working in Software Testing Automation, Quality Assurance
  • Minimum 3+ yrs working in Business/IT Sector
  • Minimum 3+ yrs working with a Test Case Management system
  • Minimum 3+ yrs working with a Defect Management system
  • Experience with 3 or more of the following considered an asset:
    1. Lottery & Gaming domain experience
    2. Experience testing web-based client/server solutions
    3. Experience writing and executing SQL statements
    4. Experience testing data warehouse and ETL solutions
    5. Performance testing experience
    6. Database testing experience

Travel Expectations:

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 50% and be eligible for a US Work Visa.
