SUMMARY: In one or two sentences, describe the primary purpose of this position.

Reporting to Division EVP and Division leadership team, this position is responsible for formulating, executing and achieving the division financial strategy and financial KPIs. A senior financial advisor responsible for the division financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and strategy, sales commissions, advance pricing and accounts receivable optimization. A strong proponent of business and financial best practices and a provider of high-quality business analytics that drive business decisions and tactical plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:What are the major duties and activities required to under-take this position.

Financial planning & analysis (FP&A)

·Annual Budgeting

1.Oversee and execute the annual budgeting process for the division.

2.Work with HQ Finance to understand budget requirements and deadlines and with HR to ensure headcount and business unit allocations are accurate.

3.Translate the Division strategic plan into financial numbers. Engage Division EVP and leaders in formulating, clarifying and rationalizing the desired business and financial targets and needs within the constraints provided by Executive Management.

4.Facilitate and review Tier 1 and 2 SG&A allocations to ensure they are transparent and fair.

5.Review budget results with Division EVP and Executive Management. Articulate and present justifications on behalf of the Division to negotiate for additional/required budget that supports the Division strategy.

·Financial forecasting

On a monthly basis, review, update and propose revised full year P&L forecast. The forecast should be updated with YTD actuals, latest demand forecasts for remainder of the year and the relevant assumptions on supply and demand, expenses and business environment/conditions specific to the Division.


Annually engage EVP and leadership team in formulating/reviewing the 5-year/mid-term strategic plan and provide advice whether current performance is in line or deviating from that plan. Identify root causes and suggest corrective actions and adjustments.

Continuously review strategic achievement, recommending improvements and adjustments. Provide financial advise on key business decisions, including but not limited to, sales deals/projects, headcount adjustments and restructuring, territory/segment/product line profitability and investments and capex.

Financial and business analyses

1.Provide in-depth financial performance analyses on P&L KPIs such as Revenue, Margin, Gross Margin Adjustments (GMA), Selling, General & Admin (SG&A) expenses, Allocations and Operating Income. Provide insights by various segmentations – By Region/Territory, Product Lines, Solutions and Industries, Salesperson, Function/Department.

2.Provide in-depth analyses on Balance Sheet KPIs such as Inventory and Accounts Receivable. Partner with Division Planning Team and the X-Force in analyzing inventory changes in relation to business activities and inventory reduction efforts. Partner with Treasury team in analyzing aged accounts receivable accounts and recovery/collection plans.

3.Support and execute various business analysis as assigned by EVP and Executive Management.

4.Drive continuous learning and development of skills in analytical tools such as (but not limited to) OBIEE, MS Tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI)

Financial and management reporting

1.Oversee monthly financial and management reporting package including Management Executive Review (MER) presentation slides.

2.Gain in-depth understanding of the division’s financial performance/results through analyzing underlying transactions/trends and engaging relevant departments (Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Accounting & Treasury, Division Planning, PM etc.) in root cause analyses.

3.Review monthly P&L and balance sheet (inventory and accounts receivable) results with EVP. Provide insights into underlying causes of significant variances against budget, forecast and prior year. Recommend and follow-through corrective actions and solutions.

4.Present the above findings at the monthly MER meetings.

Sales commission computation and reporting

1.Annually, support EVP in setting up commissions analysis template that compares by Salesperson prior year vs. current year revenue/margin targets, commission opportunities and commission rates. Assist with drafting Commission Plan documents for review by EVP and HR.

2.On a monthly basis, review commission calculations performed by the Financial Analyst and ensure accuracy and timely submission to HR for processing.

3.Review commission statements prepared by the Financial Analyst and ensure timely circulation to all Salespersons.

4.Address all inquiries regarding commission calculations, corrections and disputes. Facilitate resolution with consultation with Sales Directors and EVP.

5.Work with IT department (BTS) to continually improve process.

Advance Pricing

1.Oversee the integration of all manual regional and territory price lists into the Company’s ERP system. All non-USD price lists should be linked to and updated from a Base USD price list. All customer accounts should be set up with the appropriate pricing tier to ensure accurate prices are seamlessly populated on all system sales quotations and orders.

2.Support on-going maintenance of pricing data and ensure its integrity and accuracy. Ensure price changes are synced between system pricing and CRM.

3.Keep abreast with all product standard cost changes and provide analysis of their impact on price and margin. Perform financial/margin simulations of proposed price changes. Track and advice on effectiveness of pricing plans.

4.Integrate Non-Standard Sales Terms policy into CRM system. Ensure effective process of price discount approvals is in place and documented within CRM. Explore implementing Quarterly Non-Standard Sales Terms Questionnaire within the CRM workflow. Review and address any compliance gaps.

Accounts receivable optimization

1.Work with Treasury and Sales Directors to understand the aged accounts receivable situation and recovery/collection plans taken

2.Work with Sales team members as necessary to assist with recovery/collection efforts.

3.Set up and maintain AR dashboards for Sales team

Other Responsibilities
