Job Title: Drug & Alcohol Processing Specialist
Department: Drug & Alcohol
Location: San Fernando, CA (MPCS)
Reports to: Operations Managers
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary:  The Drug & Alcohol Specialist assists the Drug & Alcohol Administrator with the set-up of new accounts. The position also inputs drug and alcohol test results and monitors the way in which MPCS processes those test results to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation rules and regulations. In addition, the Drug & Alcohol Specialist responds to client requests, including coordinating with testing facilities and providing information to MPCS’s third-party compliance vendor.

Responsibility
 
30% Input drug and alcohol test results into MPCS’s Driver Qualification file.
25% Set up new accounts according to MPCS protocol, including shipping necessary supplies to clients and/or vendors, monitoring internal supply levels and processing replacement orders. 
25% Provide clients with convenient drug testing facilities, based on their location. 
20% Confirm accuracy of driver information (i.e., correct spelling of first and last name, last 5 numbers of SSN). 

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Stay current on all MPCS company policies, procedures and practices. 
• Stay current on all Federal and State regulations, pertaining to department.
• Set up new accounts according to MPCS protocol, including shipping necessary supplies to clients and/or vendors, monitoring internal supply levels and processing replacement orders. 
• Confirm receipt of authorization to conduct pre-employment testing of potential drivers. 
• Confirm accuracy of driver information (i.e., correct spelling of first and last name, last 5 numbers of SSN). 
• Input drug and alcohol test results into MPCS’s Driver Qualification file.
• Provide clients with convenient drug testing facilities, based on their location. 
• Assist with daily and weekly progress reports for MPCS management.
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Ability to think in a clear, logical and organized manner and work under minimal supervision. 
• Strong computer skills in the areas data entry and data management. 
• Solid working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Writer, Microsoft Office and FileMaker. 
• Ability to use the Internet as a research tool, when required. 
• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with coworkers, clients and vendors. 
• Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills for summarizing and communicating findings. 
• Ability to concentrate and work efficiently and consistently. 
• Ability to use hands and eyes repetitiously through the use of a computer monitor and keyboard.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel and bend for extended periods of time. 

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
• Participate in cross-training programs to enhance versatility and ensure development of career path. 
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 
• Continually observe surroundings and maintain a mindset of vigilance as it relates to the security of the facility. 

Education required: 
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Experience level - 6 months to 1 year

Education preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate in Arts Degree
• Experience level - 2 to 3 years

Overtime: As needed
Travel %: None

Working hours: In Office
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00PM PST
