Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

This position will support and coordinate the implementation of Process Safety Management Programs for assigned area to ensure compliance with all State, Federal and Corporate regulations, procedures and policies and will provide expert technical and regulatory support as a PHA facilitator to the assigned Division on Process Hazard Analysis as well as other PSM/RMP compliance activities.
 
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience managing regulatory based programs and/or implementing PSM and Risk Management Programs with hands on industrial experience in either refinery or petro-chemical facilities.
  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of PSM/RMP compliance within their assigned Department . Seek assistance from Corporate PSM Group when needed.
  • Review/Self Audit the assigned Department to ensure compliance with the FPC Site PSM Procedures.
  • Establish goals to achieve continuous improvement in overall department compliance with PSM/RMP regulations and RAGAGEP’s.
  • Work within Department personnel to strengthen the Process Safety Management Culture through continuous education and encouraged involvement.
  • Interpret Federal, State and Local rules and regulations, RAGAGEP’s and determine their impact on the facility and communicate changes to the appropriate people and departments as appropriate.
  • Organize and participate in PSM/RMP 3rd Party Audits; track completion of corrective actions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:  MINIMUM COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR PRIOR TRAINING:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering with 2 years of experience in a refinery or petro-chemical facility; other science degree with relative experience considered.
  • 2 + years managing regulatory based programs and/or implementing PSM and RMP Programs.
  • Working Knowledge of the tracking and application of Federal and State regulatory requirements, RAGAGEP’s and the ability to apply requirements to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentations skills required.
  • Experience reading and interpreting regulations is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with relational databases is essential
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required including working overtime for time sensitive projects.
  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity.
  • Handle and manage the stress associated with the position, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Physical requirements include duties common to a regular office environment. 
  • Travel to off-site locations or other business functions as needed [requirement to travel means having a valid driver’s license and being prepared to drive a motor vehicle and to fly with overnight stays required].
