SLI Compliance is a growing company with over 33 years of experience in providing a full range of high-quality certification and compliance testing services for voting system manufacturers and jurisdictions. We have exciting opportunities for an experienced Voting Test Manager to join our Wheat Ridge, Colorado team.

 

Position Summary:

The Voting Test Manager will work with the Voting Director in overseeing the SLI Compliance voting test team. The Voting Test Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and providing personnel/administrative supervision for the test engineering staff while ensuring the successful completion of all test activities. This may include source code review and test configuration processes, hardware testing, and/or system and functional testing. The Voting Test Manager position ensures that testing services meet rigorous industry-accepted standards of performance, which enables the company to certify that the products and related functionality operate in accordance with design requirements and specifications. The Voting Test Manager will partner with the Director and other Voting Test Managers accordingly to foster communication SLI Compliance clients and coordinate all testing activities. The Voting Test Manager also coordinates the management of SLI Compliance’s Voting related tools.

 

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly manages assigned staff, which includes:
  • Conducts performance appraisals
  • Handles basic administrative tasks for assigned staff
  • Identifies training needs for direct reports and ensures adherence to the training curricula assigned
  • Works with the Voting Quality Systems Controller to identify patterns of work deficiencies and provides recommended corrective actions through improved training curriculums and/or standard procedures
  • Ensures tasks are assigned to qualified individuals (may work with a Voting Senior Test Engineer on this, as appropriate)
  • Provides staff mentoring, guidance and support
  • Fields concerns from Managers and upper management
  • Handles escalated department questions or concerns
  • Manages the development of test plans, cases, procedures, data, and reports per internal procedures

 

• Ensures timely completion of all test artifacts and documents

 

• Uses requirement management and other test management tools for managing and maintaining test specifications and test traceability

 

• Works closely with the Voting IT Senior Test Engineer or Engineering staff to manage discrepancy reviews and ensure accurate and timely submission of discrepancies

 

• Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the test methodologies used

 

 

• Manages the development and creation of software testing artifacts for test projects

 

• Develops project work plans, schedules, and milestones

 

• Reviews and analyzes all relevant client documentation

 

• Manages, reports and coordinates “budget to actual” progress with the Director

 

• Manages and meets staff billable objectives for test projects

 

• Manages on-site and off-site laboratory test efforts to ensure successful completion

 

• Works with the Director to coordinate communications with the client, generate client responses as requested, and administer successful and timely completion of test project tasks

 

• Generates test plan summaries, and plans, coordinates, and schedules post project reviews

 

• Based on the international organization for standardization (ISO)/IEC 17025 and any other relevant standards, understands where opinions and interpretations apply, evaluates relevant information, and identifies opinions and interpretations in reports, as required

 

• Depending on the project, may also fulfill the role of Project Manager

 

• Contributes significantly to the development of SLI Compliance’s test methods and coordinates the maintenance of the requirements matrix

 

• Collaborates with the Voting Business Development Specialist by attending sales calls and assisting in qualifying opportunities

 

• Coordinates with the Voting Quality Systems Controller to ensure quality processes, procedures, and practices

 

• Supports written proposal developments and client presentations

 

• Attends seminars, conferences, and related meetings, and networks with potential clients to establish client leads

 

• May serve as the trusted advisor to the Voting System Test Lab (VSTL) or Accredited Test Lab (ATL) staff providing direct advice and guidance to the Director and VSTL or ATL staff

 

• The Voting/Health IT Test Manager may also coordinate the management of SLI Compliance’s related tools, as requested by the Senior Test Manager or Director, including:

 

 

Experience, Education, Skills, and Credentials:

  • A technical 4-year degree in computer science, computer information systems, engineering or a related field is required; certification, formal training, experience, or demonstrated competency in a technical discipline may be evaluated and considered in lieu of the educational requirement(s)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in software test engineering or software development and engineering is required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the direct management and supervision of test engineering organizations is required
  • Must have the ability to always present information in a professional manner, but more specifically, at seminars, client meetings, and conferences
  • Must have the ability to make presentations to large audiences on technical subjects concerning software engineering practices
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate to SLI Compliance’s clients our ability to meet their needs
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to translate project technical needs into a cost structure, a task list, a required hardware and tool list, a project schedule, a schedule of resource needs, and bundle this into a single, cohesive proposal is required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and to manage competing priorities is required
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced, priority-shifting environment
