A Commercial Fixtures Inside Salesperson is expected to:

  • Take initiative and be persuasive using excellent verbal communication and sales abilities
  • Know the products they are selling
  • Work effectively as a team member.

Job Summary

Commercial Fixture Inside Sales personnel interact with our customers primarily via telephone and email. They provide the customer service required to generate and close sales, to meet or exceed the established sales and gross profit goals, and to increase profit sharing.

 

Job Duties 

  • Process Sales Orders and Bids generated through telephone and email sales transactions.
  • Grow and retain established customer base and develop new business using outbound telephone and email skills.
  • Assist their customers who pick up their order at our Profit Center.
  • Maintain product literature files to ensure the most current and accurate information is always provided to our customers.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems; address pricing deductions timely and in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Support Counter Sales and Outside Sales activities and all Profit Center activities as part of our Profit Center team.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Outstanding customer service and telephone/verbal communications skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product; able to suggest appropriate related products for purchase.
  • Able to prospect new customers and increase sales with established accounts.
  • Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and coworkers.
  • Identify customer needs, provide profitable solutions, explain our value-added services, and close the sale.
  • Able to learn and operate (keyboard and mouse) the applicable software system (Eclipse) used to process orders.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Education, Training, Experience

 

- High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or inside sales; contractor sales preferred

Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center

 - Use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain

    weekly sales plans, call reports, customer contact files, and to analyze customer data

  • Hand and finger dexterity, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, near vision, far vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception. 

Environmental Conditions

 

The incumbent is exposed to the following conditions in the job:

 

Warehouses with no climate control, potentially hazardous equipment (such as forklift trucks,

mechanical lift gates, hand tools, manual material handling equipment, ladders, and rubber

retention straps). The Profit Center may stock, sell and use hazardous materials – PVC pipe

cement, pool chemicals, torch gas, propane gas, solvents, etc. You may be required to handle

these materials.
