Job Summary Inside Sales personnel interact with our customers primarily via telephone. They provide the customer service required to generate and close sales, to meet or exceed the established sales and gross profit goals, and to increase profit sharing. Job Duties Process Sales Orders and Bids generated through telephone sales transactions. Grow and retain established customer base and develop new business using outbound telemarketing campaigns. Meet or exceed the Profit Center’s monthly required GP$ target of $ ________ and GP% target of _____ %. Assist their customers who pick up their order at our Profit Center. Maintain product literature files and sample material to ensure the most current and accurate information is always provided to our customers. Investigate and resolve customer problems; address pricing deductions and material returns timely and in accordance with Company policy and procedure. Support Counter Sales and Outside Sales activities and all Profit Center activities as part of our Profit Center team. Communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might cause a credit risk. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Outstanding customer service and telephone/verbal communications skills. Comprehensive knowledge of product; able to suggest appropriate related products for purchase. Able to prospect new customers and increase sales with established accounts. Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and coworkers. Identify customer needs, provide profitable solutions, explain our value-added services, and close the sale. Able to learn and operate (keyboard and mouse) the applicable software system (Eclipse, Mincron) used to process orders. Able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment. Education, Training, Experience High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year experience in customer service or inside sales; contractor sales preferred Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center Use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel) to communicate via email, to maintain weekly sales plans, call reports, customer contact files, and to analyze customer data Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Environmental Conditions The incumbent is exposed to the following conditions in the job: Warehouses with no climate control, potentially hazardous equipment (such as forklift trucks, mechanical lift gates, hand tools, manual material handling equipment, ladders, and rubber retention straps). The Profit Center may stock, sell and use hazardous materials – PVC pipe cement, pool chemicals, torch gas, propane gas, solvents, etc. You may be required to handle these materials.
