The Windows system administrator is responsible for managing all Microsoft windows network environments within the scope of Odyssey’s Shared Services.  

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Configure and maintain Windows servers in cloud and on-premises infrastructure. 
  • Design and maintain a global Active Directory Infrastructure, manage the implementation of Group Policy and domain consolidation. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Active Directory, GPO, Active Directory Federated Services, password/identity management systems and Radius authentication. 
  • Apply automation and scripting for patch management. 
  • With the rest of the infrastructure team, manage the enterprise lifecycle from implementation to deployment, security enhancements, upgrades as well as capacity management. 
  • Test, troubleshoot and work independently to resolve issues. 
  • Manage Windows security features to protect confidential information while allowing appropriate access. 
  • Research, install and test software updates and patches for workstations and servers alike. 
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and deliver Microsoft cloud solutions using Microsoft 365. 
  • Manage and monitor Microsoft 365 services including Azure AD. 
  • Participate in Monthly Infrastructure maintenance rotations. 
  • Serve as expert resource and resolve Tier II helpdesk tickets. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Key Skills: 

  • M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science\Engineering or related field.
  • Must have extensive experience and knowledge working with Active Directory
  • Minimum 5 years of total IT experience. 
  • Strong understanding of AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, Group Policy and Organizational Units. 
  • Experience in supporting enterprise applications in a high availability environment.  
  • Background and understanding of ITIL Service management. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail required. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. 
  • Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend instruction in English.
