Where do you fit in?
The Sr. Category Manager- will define and lead the Procurement engagement, including the creation of Sourcing Plans for all spend on assigned categories (Direct or Indirect) for the business. Lead on the monitoring and reporting of delivery and performance for their nominated supplier contracts within their assigned Category. This position manages competitive bid events, conducts negotiations, performs market/price/financial analysis, develops supplier relationships, tracks and manages supplier performance, reports cost savings, and drives continuous improvement and productivity with suppliers and customers.
As part of our team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop negotiation strategies and company positions on complex (multi-million dollar) contracts.
- Work with Legal to identify and incorporate appropriate levels of commercial protection.
- Conduct negotiations to achieve the optimal business results for the company.
- Perform market analysis and financial analysis to determine business risk associated with a supplier or contract.
- Establish/maintain professional relationships with suppliers/partners, based on the highest ethical business practices.
- Be the corporate expert for assigned services categories and know the market drivers, supplier base, emerging technologies, regulatory factors, category spend by supplier, inventory, supplier, and fill rate performance.
- Acts as primary liaison to suppliers within assigned Categories.
- May provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
- Adherence to site Health & Safety
- Accurate data entry and computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with contract management for suppliers, negotiations, and assigned categories.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize.
- Must be able to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Advanced knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.
- Working knowledge of ERP applications such as NetSuite.
- Ten years of Procurement, Supply Chain, or related experience.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience in lieu of degree
