JOB SUMMARY


Under the direction of the On Premise Vice President, the On Premise Area Sales Manager IL is responsible for leading sales execution across the state as well as direct lead selling responsibilities with the most impactful customers. Their role will require delivering our annual operating plan by achieving all volume and distribution goals for The Wine Group through our distributor in the on premise channel. The Area Sales Manager will also be responsible for developing and executing pricing/programming strategies in coordination with the TWG Director of Sales for Illinois.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement Annual Operating Plan for the on premise channel which includes financial, volume, (shipments and depletions) and distribution objectives for IL
  • Deliver desired results on overall market Scorecard
  • Responsible for building and owning relationships with Southern Glazer’s IL Senior
  • Management (VP of Wine, Channel VPs, Trade Dev, etc.). Become lead point contact for GM, Trade Dev and VP of Wine and establish optimal business rhythm at all levels
  • Responsible for lead selling and growth with most impactful customers
  • Be a thought leader; Introduce creative sales execution concepts, share across state lines/regions if successful and aspire to be a leader in best practices
  • Manage assigned budgets including incentives, pricing/promotion, LMF, travel and entertainment and other departmental expenses
  • Manage and forecast OP inventory needs with TWG Sales Planning and SGWS
  • Ensure all sales practices are compliant with state and company policies/law
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by RVP

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA degree or equivalent experience and proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred 5 or more years of sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry or related business with knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium wines
  • Must have strong understanding and working knowledge of alcoholic beverage industry on premise environment
  • Intermediate wine knowledge or associated certifications preferred
  • Must be adaptive to change within organization and industry
  • Results oriented, innovation, strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work and succeed in dynamic entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed
  • Display integrity, character, and strong leadership skills
  • Support and model all company procedures and policies
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Must have an excellent safety, work performance and attendance record
  • Prioritize while able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in an office environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs at varying frequencies
  • Ability to travel frequently between home office, client sites, and industry meeting/events
