The Collections Manager will play a key role in customer collections and will help the team build and maintain a data-centric financial infrastructure. The Collections Manager’s primary focus will be on the management of the collections team, managing escalations, and the collection of past due accounts.This role will also be responsible for the implementation of a new account receivable management system. This person should be competent in account receivable workflow processes as this role may eventually include other areas of account receivables. The right candidate should enjoy building relationships with customers and be comfortable talking on the phone.
The Collections Manager position reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Collections Staff
Handle Collections escalations promptly and effectively
Collections on past due accounts receivables via phone and email
Understand and explain key collections metrics (i.e., AR aging trends, DSO, bad debt analysis)
Documenting workflow processes around collections
Lead the continuous improvement process to maximize efficiency within the collection team
Other projects and duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferable in accounting
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience of billing, collections, or customer service experience
Preference given to candidates with Salesforce experience
Preference given to candidates with Sage Intact experience
Preference given to candidates with management experience
A professional communication styles
Strong team player with ability to work with remote teams cross functionally
Highly organized, structured & process-oriented, with great attention to detail, accuracy & consistency
A curious mind with a passion for problem-solving
